Are You An Entrepreneur? 10 Must do’s!!

Are You An Entrepreneur? 10 Must do’s

Are you an aspiring entrepreneur or already one. If so then you will want to follow some general rules of thumb I have picked up being one myself since I was 19 years old.

1: Just Do It
You don’t need anyone’s approval and you probably won’t get it, so don’t even try.
2: Iterate
Build, release and iterate. Make a list of the features you want to create over the next six months and start NOW! For small companies, once a week; for larger companies, maybe twice a month.
3:
Hire Your Boss: Make sure you hire people that you would want to work for and challenge you. Someone you can learn from. You don’t want to be surrounded people that are satisfied and content. In fact if possible hire someone smarter than you in different ways.
4:
Demand Excellence: Ensure EVERYONE is committed to and understand your vision. Passionate, committed staff rub off on people. Stay involved in the hiring process as long as you possibly can.
5:
Raising Money: The higher your evaluation is, the more equity you have to work with. Beg, borrow and steal. Be creative about finding ways to cut costs.  Stick with angel investment. Venture capital mean board meetings, which is a huge sap on time and resources.
6:
Hack the Press: Contact the lower-end bloggers at your favorite tech blog. They have just as much opportunity to write about your product as any other blogger on the team. Attend the after-event parties. The same crowd that attends the events also goes to the parties, but the parties are free.
7:
Invest in Advisors: Give away a small amount of stock to advisors so you can call them for general advice wen needed. Set the rules so you and the advisor know how much time you have access to.
8:
Connect With the Community: Collect feedback and get advice from your users on Twitter Facebook Google Plus and outside in the real world!
9:
Leverage Your User Base to Spread the Word: Facebook notifications, Youtube Twitter etc is a great example of how to do this.
10:
Analyze Your Traffic: Pay attention to how people are using your site, and then learn.Use Google Analytics to understand and track traffic sources.

You have probably forgot or just put off checking which apps have access to your private information. Luckily for us there is a place we can go to check and clean it up!
It is called MyPermissions and it links right to the apps permissions.
Use it for Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, Dropbox, Instagram, and Flickr!
When I clicked the links to see all my connected apps I was BLOWN away how many I had given permission to. I had totally forgotten half of them and I was able to easily remove them.

FACEBOOK V GOOGLE PLUS Coke V Pepsi ?

Google Plus vs. Facebook Coke V Pepsi?
Google Plus is growing and fast. How much business it takes away from Facebook will depend, but this will be going on for YEARS!!
Facebook claims 800 million active users, but many people have 2-4 accounts!! So, I am inclined to say more like 500
Google (GOOG) hasn’t disclosed its own numbers lately. But the evidence suggests that Google’s answer to Facebook is growing fast. Right now, it has 68 million. Based on that nearly a quarter of all of Google Plus’s users signed up in December, a MASSIVE rate of growth.
The last official word from Google itself came in October, when CEO Larry Page said Google Plus had 40 million users. So if one quarter signed in DEC and lets say they picked up 5 mil in Nov that puts them at 10 in Dec hence right at 55-60 mil right now.

If Google Plus really does reach 400 million in a year as projected it would turn around the search giant: as a whole, the company is still ahead of everybody in terms of unique visits, but it’s being humiliated by Facebook in terms of time spent on any given Google property, such as search and YouTube.

Facebook beats Google, YouTube, Yahoo (YHOO) and AOL (AOL) combined. No wonder Google is putting so much money and effort into social media. Too bad it happened so late and not 2 years ago!

Still, Google is not easily pushed aside.  Google Plus vs. Facebook is presented as a zero-sum game, as if the success of one must result in the downfall of the other. I look at it Like McDonald’s and Burger King or Coke and Pepsi plenty of room for both!
The more friends someone has on Google Plus, and the more features that site adds, the easier for users to switch over from Facebook, or at least of adding Google Plus and going to Facebook less often.
Unless it is careful, Facebook will, if anything, be more prone to become fat cats so to speak with the site once it has billions of dollars of the investing public’s money at its disposal after its expected IPO this year. Better Facebook should use the cash to improve service and make deals with more media and gaming companies to add to the site’s features. That is, to work on making it more attractive to users rather than less so.

Google Plus Privacy Tips

Online Privacy Google Plus So you’re on Google+. You’ve familiarized yourself with our Google+ guide, the social network’s features, and what it has that Facebook doesn’t. But what about privacy? It’s something for everyone to think about. Whether you’re a newbie or power user, being familiar with Google+’s privacy settings (and the tips below) can help make you feel safer and more comfortable using it. Google has shown it’s serious about privacy with Google+, after previous social networking efforts like Buzz raised privacy concerns. G+ is loaded with privacy settings, centered around a “circles” approach, allowing you to selectively share with whom you please. A privacy flaw raised by The Financial Times was quickly remedied by Google. In addition, TechCrunch reports that Google has acquired a privacy-centric social network. It seems users are taking advantage of the privacy options too: more than two-thirds of Google+ activity is private. Some of Google+’s privacy settings are obvious, but others are not so apparent. The tips below are a wide array of both basic and more advanced tips to feel secure on Google+. (Many thanks to those who shared tips on this G+ post.) For more on Google’s views on privacy, for Google+ and beyond, see its Privacy Center. Choose Who Sees Your Posts When you start a post, you can share to your circles, extended circles, individuals or the public. Make sure “public” is NOT selected if you want to share to a limited audience. Simply select here the circle(s) or individual(s) you want to share with. You can even limit something to *just* yourself if you create a circle with no one in it. This can be used to bookmark posts or save them to read later. It’s also worth keeping in mind that since “Extended Circles” means sharing to those circled by those you circle, if you’re following any users who tend to circle everyone, that can mean essentially sharing publicly.   If you prefer, you can hide who’s in your circles. Pay particular care to this section of your profile as “who you are following could reveal something about yourself.” For example, If you follow everyone at work that opens them up to being recruited by other people. Also, “if you are considering a new job and start following lots of people at your potential new job.” Beyond hiding who you circle and who circles you completely, you can also hide them from public view and restrict access to those in your circles. + activity is private. Limit Who Sees Your Whole Profile See What Your Profile Looks Like to Others Share something with a limited audience and nervous it appears on your profile page? Don’t worry: Not everything you see on it can be seen by others. See how other people view your profile by using the (View as…) feature on your profile page; you can see how anyone around the Web sees you or even a specific person. Go to privacy settings Click the rectangle “Edit network visiblity” On the right side of the screen, click the words “Where are you on the web?” Select “Only you” and click SAVE Now go back in, and you’ll see that the setting has reverted back to what it was originally. i.e. the changes were not saved. Send private messages While Google+ doesn’t have a separate “direct message” feature like Twitter, it’s easy to start a private thread with someone. Simply share something but remove “public” and any circles, and replace the “share to” area with just the person’s name. Remember public means indexed by google Public posts and comments are indexed by Google. It’s especially important to remember this when commenting: When you chime in on a public thread, just know that the world can find it through search. So public comment threads may not be the best place to pick a fight and you’ll want to be mindful of what you’re posting.

GOOGLE Better Wake the F UP!!

APPLES APPS 6 times that of Androids !!!!!

There are more Android phones and devices out there than IPHONES IPAD ITOUCHES whatever..
Android users seem to be losing their wallets.. SHAME ON YOU!! iPhone users and iOS users fire at will!
App Store for iPhone make 4x as much as Google’s Android Market.
Just the App Store for iPad has 2x the amount.
So the combined app store revenue for Apple is 6x that of Androids!!
It is pretty embarrassing that just the iPad alone is generating more money for developers than the entire Android system.

This is the proverbial wake up call GOOGLE the developers are going where they can get paid!

Mobile app developers will look to iOS  Android second. The large number of Android devices out there is not making MONEY FOR DEVELOPERS. What a pitiful battle if you want to call it that…

Galaxy Nexus vs Samsung Galaxy S2

Galaxy Nexus vs Samsung Galaxy S2: Specs and features

Does the Samsung Galaxy S2 stand a chance against the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone?

The Samsung Galaxy S II or S2, , is Samsung’s  biggest selling smartphone EVER!. It is also the smartphone considered by many as the biggest smartphone that can compete against the iPhone.
But after the Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus , many believe that the Android ICS 4.0 alone can compete against’s Apple.
Can the Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus steal the crown as this year’s “Best Android device?” Or the top-of-the-line is still owned the Samsung Galaxy S II? Your thoughts are appreciated if you own one.
The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus (left) and the white Samsung Galaxy S II or S2 (right). Two Samsung devices that will compete this coming holiday season.

The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus (left) and the white Samsung Galaxy S II or S2 (right). Two Samsung devices that will compete this coming holiday season.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy S II  has a Exynos dual-core 1.2GHz processor, but the Galaxy Nexus apparently has a treat too with its own 1.2GHz Texas Instruments dual-core processor.
The overall performance of both smartphones also depend on the operating system, Galaxy S2′s Android Gingerbread and Galaxy Nexus’ Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The Android ICS is much better, even without the custom user interface. Aside from the operating system’s more intuitive UI or user interface, the new Android version is also more polished. It is safe to say that ICS is the most beautiful Android version ever! The native web browser and the People App (or the new Contacts App built-in).

Screen Beauty

The Samsung Galaxy S II or S2 has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with resolution of 480 x 800, 217 ppi pixel density.  The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus is “technically” better when it comes to screen because it features 4.65-inch Super AMOLED screen with 316 ppi, close to Apple’s iPhone 4/4S’s 326 ppi, and with resolution of 1280 x 720 or the so-called 720p.
But the large 4.65-inch screen is a love/hate feature, especially if you have small hands. The Samsung Galaxy S2, according to my research  is thinner than the Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus, but by at least 0.4mm only.
It is worth noting that the Galaxy Nexus screen sports the “contour” display, similar to the 2010 Nexus S released last year.

Cameras

The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus is a phone that features “better cameras” than other Android handsets out there because of the zero shutter lag feature, and the built-in photo and video editing tools courtesy of the Android 4.0. However, the primary camera of the Galaxy Nexus is 5MP only, some say technically lower than the Samsung Galaxy S II or S2′s 8-megapixel camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 also features “better” front-facing camera with 2MP, versus the 1.3MP camera of the Galaxy Nexus. The front-facing camera is for video chatting, or SelCa or “Self Camera,” or a mirror while combing for some.

Others

The Nexus phone will include 1750 mAh battery. The original Samsung Galaxy S II (global) features 1650 mAh batter.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus also supports NFC out of the box, while some Galaxy S2 variants have, but not activated like the AT&T and T-Mobile versions. The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus is also expected to include Google Wallet feature, that will allow users to wave and pay virtual and physical goods by using Citi Mastercard credit card, or Google’s Prepaid card for other credit card holders.
Both the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Nexus feature 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi a/b/g/n and GSM 850 /900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 support. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is available in United States via Sprint for CDMA, and AT&T and T-Mobile for the GSM versions. The Samsung Google Galaxy Nexus is reportedly a Verizon Wireless exclusive device in United States with the Long Term Evolution data technology, and other versions that will arrive outside US will support GSM.
